Default squecky/squeling noise

i have a pretty bad squecky/squeling noise on my front end, whenever i turn the wheels, and whenever i got over bumps my front end makes this noise. my dad checked it out and said it was either a tierod or a balljoint. any other input on what this sound might be or what's causing it? thanks

How many miles are on the car? It may be time to replace some bushings and such anyways, and it will make it drive better too.

If i were you id just try to single out what the noise most likely is. Then replace bushings and ball joints accordingly. My dad did that on his 98 f 150 and ended up replacing the whole front steering assembly. He says it drive like the day he got it.

I had to replace the tie rod ends on my car because they were doing that when I bought it. They come from Ford completely sealed so you can't grease them, it's a horrible design. It's hard to tell if it's a tie rod end or a ball joint from a text description though, and it could be either. There is a test to find out which it is, but I can't remember it exactly now. I'm sure someone can come and help complete this for me, but you have to jack up the car and text for slack in the wheels, I just can't remember exactly how it worked and which way was which. Tie rod ends are a very simple and fairly cheap fix though.

yeah i'd like to do that and get it done with but i just bought a 4v engine and am still trying to get it put in my car, so my budget is pretty tight. but as said above my post that's what my dad and his buddy thought it sounded like, a tierod end. i'm taking it to the garage this week to find out
