RE: How much to pay for leak down test?
Depending on the shops labor rate...normally between 75 and100 bucks....all 8 cylinders...1 to 1 1/2 hours labor..(includes pulling all the plugs(including the Coils COP) and the leak down test...

I'd guess that Ford would charge around 1.5 - 2.0 hours to do it. Probably closer to 2.0 hours. Why not do it yourself?

A leakdown test is where you (or the shop, hahahaha) pressurizes each cylinder with a sparkplug hole adapter that has a pressure gauge on it. You then watch to see how quickly the cylinder loses pressure - and more inportant, WHERE it loses it from. The test will identify how well each cylinder holds compression and whether or not you have a ring or valve sealing problem.
This is in addition to the cranking cylinder pressure test, which uses a compression gauge also in the spark plug hole. There's a dry test and a wet test, where you first squirt some oil into the cylinder. This helps diagnose poor ring seal.

+1, buy a gauge and do it yourself.
