Just bought a manual shift '97 Mustang GT with 118,000 miles. It was from the original owner who was a sixty year old accountant who took decent care of this car. The engine is strong and handling is great...but when the car is moving there is a faint "whir" sound. Is this just one of those ol' noises that is common on an eight year old "Fords" or could it be something like the trans needs oil...or something worse?
