It sounds like you didnt change the flasher relay. which kit did you get?
I think you are right. I read somewhere that you have to use a mechanical relay like they had in the older cars.
Well, my MM kit came with a new flasher relay
I did not mean a physicaly "old" flasher. I just meant that type of flasher as opposed to the newer electronic type.

The M4I kit has a modified stock flasher. I believe they added a small capacitor inline to change the timing. I don't know what size, or where to put it, but you can check out the instructions on this site.
