Well first off welcome. My 99 gt vert has 145k miles on it. The first thing i would do is change all the fluids, filters, ect.. Just give it a good once over. Make notes to yourself as to what, if anything, is leaking. If he has a book of maintance records, get that from him.

If he kept his oil changed highway miles are fairly easy on a car especially the clutch, transmission and rear end. You might want to get a compression test on the motor.

When I bought mine used it had 62k on it. Since Im a pretty aggressive driver, I noticed my stick shift getting pretty hot at the end of the day. Glad I changed the tranny fluid cause it was black as molassas and the heat problem went away. I did the same for the rear differental fluid. same outcome, fluid really old. If the owner hasn't changed those two recently, I would do them immediately.

Not a bad deal at all ! Also if the engine goes soon down the line you can pick one up off a ebay for around 900 -1300 bucks, mileage ranging from 50k to 70k .
