Default Low-Temp Thermostat. Are they really beneficial?

http://rpmoutlet.com/musv8dynotune.htm#3

Im wondering how true their write upis...

Even if the coolant starts flowing at a lower engine temp, the engine is still going to get as hot as usual.

If you lower the temp that your t-stat opens and lower the temp your fans come on, your engine will operate at a lower temp on average. As long as you don't have any other issues with your cooling system. IMO its a cheap mod, but its not really gonna improve much. Your engine was designed to operate at the stock temp.

Another big thing to think about is your stock intake is plastic, and the engines coolant temp is not gonna affect your intake air temp hardly at all because it doesn't retain heat like cast iron or aluminum. People did this a lot on older engines who's manifolds were aluminum or cast iron and coolant flowed through them. Having a lower coolant temp on one of those (or if you have an aftermarket aluminum intake) would be beneficial but not on the stock plastic intake our mustangs come with.

Your engine was designed to operate at the stock temp.
+1 your engine's clearances (piston skirt to cylinder wall, bearing clearances, etc) were designed for the engine when warmed up to factory-spec temps, so lowering your engine's operating temp won't do much good.
