Default an idea for new intake, will it work?

i had an idea that i wanted to put an intake scoop on my car and have oldschool butterfly opening on it. basically like the old school one your see, as in the fast and the furious. these are usually connected to a blower, but i dont see being able to afford that anytime soon. so i wanted to know its possible to just have a butterfly scoop that would replace my fender intake and just connect to the throttle body. does any one know if this would be possible?

and the bodywork wouldn't be a problem im really good with the fibreglass and everything.

old school ideas belong on old school cars. Kind of like putting side pipes on a modern corvette. Beside being visually wrong, I don't think you could get it to work right, those intakes are designed for down draft carbs, not fuel injection. You would have to fabricate a new intake manifold, that would probably cost you serious HP or serious money, a lot more then a supercharger.

The closest your going to get is the mach one scoop... You'd never get that set up right to work.

and lets not think about the MAF and filter setup for that thing. You would need to figure in the setup for the IAC valve and anything else hookes to the now existing intake piping. IF you could get it to work, it'll be more work and $$$ than it's worth.

LOL WTF Yeah no way it can be done or should be done. I think the fast and the furious remark kinda sums up this topic.
