Would it really hurt anything being the lash adjusters or the cam followers the car has a 108,000 miles on it most of it highway and is still doing all highway Im wanting to get a new motor for it but i dont have the money right now, and I want to get it paid off also.

Well Im still not convinced that the lash adjusters/followers are the issue. Theres only 10% chance of me diagnosing what is wrong with your car over the internet with a video/soundclip. Use the advice here to isolate the issue and have a professional mechanic/knowledgable friend confirm/deny the source of the problem.
