Same thing happens to mine. Took it to the stealership today and they told me it would be 1200 to replace the ABS control module.

Just get the problem diag'd, then save up for the part/labor if you cant do it yourself..Its like 100$ to do a diag at Ford (well atleast at my work)

Its pricey, but it beats buyin parts at throwing em at it...

that is a little pricey if it is just the ABS module, but if its the ABS an HCU then it is going to be a lot of $$

You also have to think how much the parts cost, then the time it takes to bleed the brakes afterwards... HCU replacement is a HUGE PIA im my book,

Do an HCU on an Escape Hybrid, then cry to me about brake bleeding

geez, if its going to be more than a grand to fix, i think i may get my car programed to turn off the ABS and trac control all together.... or just deal with the light blaring me in the eyes.

k so i just got the car looked at... 45 minutes later they told me my car was telling their scanner it was a 3.0L Ranger??? They said they then had to use the old scanner and said they couldnt pinpoint the issue but the scanner says to replace the ABS module which would cost me $1100 to replace but they arent sure it would fix it and would have to go from there.... A ranger? Ok so what are your thoughts guys??...

Can an incorrectly programmed superchip tell my computer that the car is a Ranger?

does anyone know how easy it is to replace the ABS module?

Ah,you didnt take the tune off first.. Thats common to show up as something weird.. Im surprised they werent smart enough to pick up on it... Set it to stock, and have em re-scan it.. What was the code...tell them you want to see it off the IDS' screen... Then tell me what it is I'll look into it.. Im a tech at a Ford dealer, I'll b able to help you a bit

thanks, hopefully they can tell me what the code is this time. i talked to them today and asked if they would rescan it for me as i took out the chip and cleaned up some corrosion in a harness and they said sure. ill post what they tell me and the code they give me here: https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l-general-discussion/490521-so-my-car-thinks-its-a-ranger.html i started a different thread for my issue, i felt like i was hijacking this one

up where im at i hardly ever see any nice stangs so im not even sure if they get much of our type of business in their service shop.
