Default WHO HAS A GOOD MAIL TUNE?pi swap

alrite, i have my pi heads and intake in place, the car idles fine and sounds strong, im running premium and a little octane booster for good measure, Where is the best place to get a mail order tune for the pi swap? My mods are--k&n drop in, u/d pullies, h-pipe, and not that it matters but a b&m ripper shifter.

My tune from VMP tuning woke the car up alot. The butt dyno felt a nice improvement.

did you get your tune before, after, or the same time as the 3.73s?

"Good" and "mail tune" are two words I wouldn't put in the same sentence. The chances of it being acceptable are remote.

clicky

Before the gears. With the tune I can break the tires loose in 1st and some of 2nd. Never could do that with the stock tune w/o dumping the clutch at like 2k

Dyno-tunes are great and all, but I don't think they're necessary for a mild bolt on car. I paid $60 for 1 tune and $200 for my used xcal 2. Livernois wanted $350 or something like that for a dyno-tune.

You get what you pay for. What do you mean you couldnt break the tires loose? How is that. When my Stang was stock, (A long time ago) I could chirp it in 2nd. And in 1st all it took was a quick launch, didnt have to dump it. I would like to see on a dyno what your mail order tune actually done for you. I doubt the difference is what your making it out to be. Especially on a stock or mostly stock car. Personally I would have rather spent the extra 90 bucks and had it done right.

Im talking about easily taking off in 1st and nailing it around 2-2.5k and spinning them to redline, shift to 2nd and still spin them till the tires hook. On the stock tune I could chirp in 2nd all the time and 3rd as well when I really got on it. With the stock tune if I rolled out easily in 1st and nailed it there was no tire slippage at all. I had to "quick launch" to get my tires to break loose.

And it wouldnt have been another $90 for the dyno tune. Here's my pm from another forum from Livernois. $200 off the dyno, $300 on the dyno, plus the cost of my xcal still.

We can tune it off the dyno for $200 or on the dyno for $300.

Thank you,

Rick @ Livernois
Now if I were to have a set of cams installed, then I would get a dyno tune. But for basically just changing the few things I did to my car I think the mail order tune will suffice.
