Default Quick Firewall adjuster/clutch quadrant question!!

So i have the UPR clutch quadrant/firewall adjuster, and i just want to know how to go about installing it.. I will be using these directions http://www.competitionspeedandsound....structions.pdf

BUT, other directions say to disengage the clutch from the bellhousing?? Yet this guy didn't need to do that (granted this car is a cobra in the link, but it should all be the same sh*t cobra or GT right?)

Anyways, i have an 01 GT, so can i still go about doing the install the way that the link stated? (besides removing the covers of course bc i dont have cool 32v covers like that ) B/c i dont want to have to go under the car and disengage things from the tranny, etc like this link says...especially if i dont have to... http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...-install1.html

lemme know guys.. any advice or help before i install this would be greatly appreciated

and im nervous about losing the retaining pin!! please tell me this install is idiot proof i have no idea what to expect bc i have never done anything like this

The instructions in the first link are correct, beyond this I don't have a clue as to what "disengage the clutch from the bellhousing??" could possibly mean.

You will have to go under the car and "disengage things from the tranny", otherwise you will not be able to release the tension on the clutch cable to get it off of the OEM quadrant and back on to the new quadrant.

No rocket science here, follow the instructions in the first link and you'll be OK. The retaining clips for the OEM quadrant and ratchet pawl do tend to go flying, one of mine is still down in there amongst the carpet and padding someplace--however the good news is that you'll be removing two and only need one to get things back together!

the install should be pretty simple and straight forward. disengaging the clutch cable from the clutch fork is not a big deal.

ahh thanks cliffy... And i didn't mean disengage clutch from the bellhousing.. i meant disengage clutch cable from the tranny.. sorry =/ gotta a lot of things racing through my mind at the moment

i'm just trying to figure out why the 1st link doesnt say to disconnect the cable from the tranny!!! but i will do that, and then take the steps from the first link

Thank you.

Rarely do people check the 2nd page.. which it was pretty much the last link on the 1st page. so i figured i would bump it.. 12 views and not one response.. i didn't want it to get lost into the archive.. i wanted answers while it was still fresh in my mind.

Thanks for posting guys.. appreciate it. i don't know much about clutches or drivetrains, but it seems pretty idiot proof
