Default weired noise 99 gt

I have a 1999 gt 5 speed, and I get this weired howling noise that sounds like whooooo..It comes and goes and it doesnt matter if im in gear or neutral..Today at a stoplight, the noise came really loud for like 2 seconds, the car almost stalled and then the noise went away and it was fine..It usually only happens when I am driving but it only lasts for like 2-3 seconds at a time..I have no idea what it could be, bc its not always there only sometimes..thanks in advance

Do you think it could be the a/c pump?

Sounds like an accessory locking up.

Mine did the same thing and it was the bearings in the alternator.

What I did to locate the problem was take the belt off and rotate all the accessories and look for wabble or listen for sound. My alternator wabbled. Also I noticed with the belt on it looked like it was wobbling.

Mine was doing the same thing. I replaced my IAC with a new one from Ford (autozone version sucks) and I haven't heard that deep moaning noise since.

Dadgummit I can't remember right now but I am sure it was between 75 and 110 bucks. I bought two of the autozone versions in the past two years and with both I still had the moaning and "almost stalling". They make good paperweights though.
