Default Pypes Midpipe

Well, what a ****** this thing was to put in. To be fair to Pypes, half the issue was just Ford engineers never having to get dirty on the stuff they design, but the fitment of this thing is pretty horrible. The driver side downpipe was bent about an inch and a half too far down so it hangs too low and was a little too short. The downpipe also wasn't flared enough to make a seal with the header before the flange bolts bottomed out on the shoulder so I had to take it to Monroe and get it flared a little more. "Big props to the Monroe on York Rd. in Warminster, Pa. Open Sundays and they hooked me up in about 5 minutes." The actual X is kinda "Yed" at the inlet instead of straight so the downpipes had to be forced in at an angle instead of straight in "with them loose mind you." This was especially problematic cause it was almost impossible to get the downpipes far enough into the X to cover the holes made for fitment. Uhg. To top it off, the included clamp wanted to spin instead of tighten and the UDP O2 extensions are wrong. So for now, I have my rear O2s tie wrapped to the tranny cross member until I can get them replaced. Personally, I like the sound that I got putting it on, but I would advise anyone doing this themselves to go a different route. If you're gonna take it to the shop, be ready to pay a little more than what they quote you for install.

Also, if this should have gone in the pipes boost and juice forum I apologize but since it went on an 04 GT I figured this was the right place. Their Fox stuff may be great, who knows?

I put pypes mid x-pipe on two stangs and never had problems like that. The only thing I had a problem on was that the drivers side leaked on both where it met with the stock exhaust manifold where i used a special silicone on the one I have now to stop the leak since it was as tight as it was gonna go and still had a really small gap. Is it a catted or off road x-pipe from pypes???
