My car ALWAYS reads extremely hot. When I shut my car off, it settles at almost halfway and will not go down to 0. I have taken off the plastic cover and tried moving it to 0 but it just goes back. Had the engine temp check, running normal IDS at 193 degrees. What DO I DO???
You need to pull the needle off and reposition it on the gauge shaft.
If you can take the cluster front plate off, plug the cluster in and get it to normal opperating temperature. Then do what cliffyk said and pull the needle off the shaft and put it on while it's pointed in the middle
I tried that once, but didn't think that it would just come off? I was was afraid of breaking it... is there any particular method? Do you pull on the fat part of the needle?
