I guess with a used car, come used problems. First, it would overheat. Now it won't start. It is turning over, nice and strong. But, that's it. I usually hear the fuel pump turn on. I don't hear it anymore. I believe that is my problem. How difficult is it to replace. 97' GT.

If you look under the hood on the fuel rail there is a small black cap like what you would see on a bike tire. Take off the cap and use some needle nose pliers to push down on the pin inside (while the ignition is on) and if you get fuel coming out your pump its good. Do it a few times, it should had a lot of pressure every time.

Things to try before dropping the tank.

One, Is the fuel pump fuse okay?

Two, Did you reset the inertia switch? On 99-04 it's located in the trunk behind the tailights. Not certain of 94-98 (I think the passenger kickpanel by the door)

Three, check the pressure as described above but if you can't hear the pump it wll probably be one of the first two.

Good call Derf00, I forgot about the switch! Not sure where it would be on a 97 but if that thing popped out you just need to push it back in.

Checked the fuse. Checked the switch. Checked the pressure from the fuel rails. Nothing worked. Guess I'll be dropping the tank.
