Trun your traction conrtol off and O/D off. That will help a little. But yea, you will need a programmer and a shift kit wouldn't hurt neither.

Gears; programmer to calibrate the speedo for the gears, tune the car, and firm shifts; and if that isn't enough, a shift kit and torque converter.
