Default convertible owners with light bars...

i need a favor. on another forum (specifically a sebring convertible forum) the members are trying to find out if, with a little modification, a light bar from a mustang will fit into the sebring. it sounds crazy, but the similarities between the two cars so far is staggaring. so, for someone willing to help, please post the following measurements:

Well its hard to give you measurements because the bar isnt shaped that way. Its rounded at the top on both sides. I took these measurements maybe to give you a "idea" if it would work. Though these arnt by any means exact.

D= 56 3/4 inches + or -
A+C= 20 inches (impossible to tell you close because its rounded)
B= about 23 inches, again hard to be exact.

I did my best diagnal measurement to try and match the diagram you have, maybe this will help out. This is from a 03 cobra, lightbar came from Americanmuscle.com, maybe they can also help you out with measurements.

What would work better is a height and depth in from the outside measurement. drop a plumb line from the three highest points (middle and furthest out) and then use a level and measure the height and how far in those heights are. May work better than trying to measure exact lengths up sides that are curved vertices.

exactly, ordered from american muscle and just installed myself about a week ago. being as rounded as it is, points or refernce would be hard to measure and explain. Wouldnt you just need the width? then i could measure the hieght of it, from the point where it contacts the car, to the highest point on it. i still have pretty good clearance even with the top up, so its not like it barely fits the top on when the bar is there. Another thing may be how your top closes, if it would hit the bar or go over it then come down.

i won't be putting this in my car. the chrysler community is trying to see if one can be modded to fit the sebring convertible, which has a lot of similarities to the mustang convertible. obviously buying a $450 part just to see if it will fit is out of the question, so we are going to try and "build" one out of dow rods using your measurements to see how that fits. if it isn't even close, we won't move forward, but if there is a chance, time to move to the next step.

Damn ^^^ I have been wanting one for the longest time but didn't want to spend $400 bucks. I just order mine with shipping for $269 to my door. I hope the quality is good.

i got a styling bar from AM, iirc. the quality was excellent and looks almost factory in the grained "leather" wrap. the bar is also very sturdy, for a decorative piece, that is.
