Default New Mustang Exhaust

I have a 2003 Mustang GT. I just recently installed the UPR O/R Xpipe with 3 Chamber Flowmaster Mufflers. I will take off and get on the engine pretty hard. People have commented that the exhaust sounds empty. They also said to get a CIA and it would sound better. Is this true?

thats a good question....personally i think intakes make cars sound better. it gives you a little more hp and lets your engine breath more making a better sound.

As long as you like the sound, it does not matterthat much. However...

More air in, more air out. It might sound better or not. BUT, better air flow mean more power and better milage. The '03 and '04s are the same. In 2002, the IAT sensor was integrated into the MAF, so the CAI needs to be made for that year group. I recommend Steeda. I had a through-the-fender type before, but servicing the filter was a pain. The Steeda is easier to maintain and the filter is HUGE. You'll need hand tools and 45 minutes to remove the old and install the new CAI.

There are still plenty of bolt on mods to consider after that. UDPs, TB/plenum, timing adj or tuner, headers, etc.

Good luck

Alright thanks! Everyone told me that the offroad pipes would make my check engine light come on since there were no catalytic converters. My SES light has not come on at all since the Xpipe has been on the car.... Wonder why this is?

Whoever installed it probably put in Mil eliminators. That keeps the ses light off. The intake will help the flow. Not to be a dick or nothing, but what is with the 3 chambers? I have 2chamber and i wish it was alot louder.

The three chambers were already on the car. I didn't have enough money to get new mufflers. That is another mod for a later time
