Cam gears question
Man, i really try searching my questions before I post them. I always get lost in the maze that follows.
Income tax time is approaching. Think I gonna go with some stage 2 cams. Im confident with my mechanical ability and will be performing install myself. Couple quick questions. 03GT
1: Stock cam gears. Can I use the stock cam gears or do you "have" to use adjustable? I'm under the impression, valve springs "are" a must?
2: Are the stock cam gears a press fit? Will any special tools be needed to remove/install on new cams? Are they keyed?
3: Been trying to get good comparison on all the different cams and prices. Can find most brands/grinds except CMS Cams. Where does one find these?
Thanks for any info.

You need adjustable cam gears if the cams are off by +/- 2*. If your cams are off by more than that you need adjustable crank gears.
Valve springs are needed if the cam lift is above .550", spinning above 6500rpm or running a lot of boost.
Other popular cam companies are Modular Head Shop, Hitech, Comp Cams.
