Does anybody know if I could put DOHC 4.6 heads on a 5.4 block? I am pretty sure that the two engines are the same size in dimensions, but I dont know if they would actually bolt up.I was thinking of getting a Navigator DOHC 5.4, but that has a iron block. I want to take a SOHC aluminum 5.4 and place the 4.6 heads on it. I want to do this because the 4.6 DOHC engines are far more common than the 5.4.

That's why they are called Modular engines. Every part on the V8's are interchangable.

Thanks alot guys! I thought it would, but I wanted a second opinion before I spent any money. Now I need an aluminum 5.4 f-150 block and a Lincolin heads. Then I go real FAST!<IMG height=17 src=smileys/smiley4.gif width=15 border="0">

They can, you just have to add other parts like a different front cover, probably crank gear etc....</P>
