how much louder is the vortech bypass?

^ as long as you stay with a BPV. if you go with a blow off valve you will need a new maf (blow thru maf) and youll have to retune then. cant tell what your asking about retuning for since people are flip flopping on here from BPV's to BOV's cuz the two arent directly interchangable.

Heres a question then, if I upgrade the stock BPV in my kit with the larger BPV will it affect my tune? I know oxford said you don't need a retune but is that referring to just replacing the existing peice with the same peice or upgrading.

You don't need a retune if you are just replacing your BPV. You would need a retune if you were going to use it as a BOV(and you car would run a hell of alot better)
BTW any BPV can be used as a BOV. I used my vortech Mondo BPV as a BOV.

I'm suprised I never heard of this before, why does switching to blow off make the car run better than the stock bypass? How do you "convert" the BPV to BOV?

Because the MAF gets a more accurate reading when you convert to blow thru. You get much better off boost performance too. No matter how hard you try to avoid it the bypass will always throw off the MAF by back feeding the intake tube.
To convert a bypass valve to a blow off valve you take off the tube that runs back to the sc intake and allow it to vent. Not really a hard conversion lol. But when you do this you have to put the MAF after the BOV and get a retune.

I was going to pick one of those up when I did my supercharger but it said it was for higher boost application, if I knew I could run it I would of just bought that instead of paying for a OEM for my kit as it wasn't to much more for the bigger one.
