Default Throttle position sensor question

I just installed this combo: http://www.rpmoutlet.com/newv8ma.htm
The one pictured. An Accufab upper plenum and 75mm throttle body and mac straight shot CAI with 85mm Mass Air Sensor housing.

My problem is now my car idles at like 2000rpm. It will do that for like 5 seconds then drop to 1500 for a second then drop to about 1000rpm. Its really anoying too, because my car acts like an automatic. When I am driving and I let off the gas the car keeps going at the same speed, it doesn't slow down from the engine. I installed the throttle body sensor right. It can really only go one way on, but I know you can twist it a little bit and it changes the idle rpm, but 2000rpm is the lowest. I can raise it to 2500 if I want.

PLEASE HELP!! I know theres some one out there that has had this happen to them! thanks!

Could be a couple different things.

The tps i think should be .99v when throttle closed, checked hayne's manual.
Did you unhook the pos side of the battery for 10mins to reset the cpu to learn ur new configuration?
Maybe some oil got on the maf sensor from the filter. Usually happens after a person recharges it, with too much oil,not brand new, but.
Vacum leak somewhere. I left a vacum hose by accident, idling at 2k and wouldn't come down.
I got a throttle body recently it was idleing at 2k, I adjusted the **** that pushes on the throttle plate, down to a lower idle. I had measured the distance on the previous throttle and found the new one opened a little wider.

Then reset computer. The computer may take a while to learn your new configuration.

great tips, man! I will try them all when I get a chance. I just read the haynes manual about the voltage test. Thanks for the good advice.

I got a similar setup from rpmoutlet - Accufab 75mm TB/plenum, C&L CAI, 85mm MAF.

I, too, had exactly the same problems. Checked all the hoses, nothin'. Thought it was the TPS...bought a new one. Broke it. Finally I said screw it and had a Ford dealership install the TPS for me.

Seriously, check the TPS. I just KNEW I put it on right, but, well, I kinda did...I just broke it when I did it...

I know its been awhile since you posted this, but thanks. I am new to tuning and had a hi rev idle (2k) after installing a Tb and Plenum. After reading this post, I Dc'd the battery for 30 secs, and reattached. Idle returnerd to smooth as ever. Easy answert to a very perplexing prob. Thanks again.
