My Stang has been in the shop for a couple weeks now, and I am getting it back on thursday (THANK GOD).
They had to replace the trans, clutch, and flywheel, which means I am going to need to be easy on my baby for a while.
My question is what should I do to break in the new parts, and how long should I do it for?
And yeah I know, it sucks that I am having the parts put in by someone else, I just dont have the time/equipment to put all those parts in myself. Luckily it's a trustworthy mechanic who's fixing it
Just dont beat on it, keep the throttle mild and do NOT dumpe the clutch. I usually break in clutches for 1000-1500 miles depending on driving conditions.
lol I usually shift at 2000 rpms when im trying to save gas anyways...and so only 500 miles? That definitely sounds alot better, 1500 miles would be brutal

Yea I just got the extra mileage because I'm paranoid OCD and use spec.
Yeah makes sense, right now I can tell the clutch needs to be broken in just by how it drives. I honestly can't wait for this 500-750 mile break in to be done with
