2001 Mustang GT won't shift when redlining/WOT
Hi all,
I've been ding research on this board and other forums and can't find a solution to my issue.
I recently did the gas pedal mod with a 1/4 spacer. so now I can go WOT which I couldn't previously. Everything else in my Mustang is stock except for the exhaust (not sure what brand)
When I'm at a stop and I floor the pedal (i.e getting on the freeway) the RPM's go all the way up to around 6-7 and I'm waiting for the tranny to shift, but it doesn't automatically shift. I release the pedal a little bit then it shifts. I do this because I'm worried it won't shift out of 1st and I'll end up blowing the engine.
I don't want the redline it and risk it ... should I trust my tranny more or is something wrong with it? I was guessing it could be the accumulator but I want to hear some input fronm you all.
Thanks,
Sergius

Did this only happen once? Go try it again and see if it happens. Were your tires spinning when it didn't shift? If my tires are spinning when its time to shift, it'll just bounce off the rev limiter most of the time. I have the slush box too.
