Can you swap B heads for C heads?
Hi, right now im currently building a 95 lincoln mark viii motor and the B heads just from looking at it are no good. It looks like some one tried to rebuild it and forgot which bolt went where to hold the cams in, and broke 9 bolts total in both beads. And the intake cams are scored pretty well. So i was wondering if i can just skip finding another set of B Heads and if i can just swap in C heads. And any 2 cents on the rebuild is more than welcome

The intakes are different on them. The c heads don't use imrc plates. You can't just swap the heads in by themselves. The throttle cables are probably different.I believe the fuel rails are different too but I'm not sure.

I can find C heads and the Cobra manifold for 700 right now. I'm sure the heads will bolt up but i just wanted to 100% for sure before buying them. If i do the heads and manifold i wont need to do an IMRC delete. I didnt know that i couldn't use the mark viii throttle cable though and the fuel rails. I also hope that i can use the valve covers i already got and the timing cover. I'll wait for some one to come in and confirm before buying the C heads

May be easier to just run the B heads. If ur going to boost...b beads flow better anyway. Im over 600hp and 550tq on stock b beads with a valve job. Sounds like c heads or more work for the near same outcome. I recommend doing everything you possibly can while its aparr. Cams/port/imrc delete/ solid motor mounts/ as by the time u get done...you wont want to do this again. Keep in mind that the mark vii crank is not forged vs. Cobra crank from what i have read in the past.

Yeah i guess ill just go with B heads. Either way i need to the Heads and the intake manifold. Thats why i was wondering if it was better to go with the C heads. I plan on staying NA and the the Cheapest i can get the B heads with cobra manifold is 600 or i could get the C heads with cobra manifold for 700.

C heads will swap over, the intake is different and so are the throttle cables, fuel rails mount differently as well. B heads do not flow better than C heads with boost, Heavily modified b heads flow better than heavily modified c heads. But stock for stock, regardless of boost, or cams for cams, the c heads will outflow the b heads. Also C heads make worlds more torque in stock and slightly modified forms.
