Change in fuel system between GT models?
I sold my procharger to a guy with an 03 gt. I was told by the guy that i bought it from, and by procharger, that the kit would work for all 96-04 models. It is a P-1SC model from Procharger...anyways: the guy got the system, and he calls me today and told me he cant install it because a friend of him said the fuel pump is different ont he 02-04 models than the 99-01 models. He was talking something about inline vs intank.
Moving on...this guy wrong, or was there actually a change in the fuel delivery system? If so, what kind? Change enough to require a new fuel pump other than what Procharger provided for this supposed 94-04 GT kit?
thanks guys!

Yeah, he mentioned that
can someone please elaborate, and give me the specs on this returnless system, and if will affect this pump they provide, and their kit?
thanks!

RE: Change in fuel system between GT models?
IMO from interent trolling:
most likely the diff between variable vs constant voltage units.
the returnless use variable and the return style use the constant.
the return style pumps are supposed to burn up quickly on 02+ but I HAVE NO PROOF.
ati supplied a walbro 255 in tank pump. walbro now makes a 280lph returnless style pump but i dont know what ati/walbro is willing to do to correct this for those who have the wrong pump. i bought the cobra + BAP setup already so i havn't called to see what they will do but am interested in knowing how they handle this.
if ati supplies the new 280 pump with their new 02+ kits they clearly know about it.
it comes down to who picked the walbro units to know where the responciblity lies (ATI or walbro).
and who specifically assumed they would work without checking before they started selling. they did the same with the 04 versions as i had the p1sc on04 first and there were some variance they didn't know about.
if you are the original owner i would call for the new owner and see what they can work out as warantees are not transferable to anyone but the original purchaser
again, walbro now makes a returnless style pump so there must be a reason

there is a difference but it was 99+ (not 02+ up like i said earlier, sorry i contribute at work and do this fast)
mmff mag advertiser tommie vaughn's ad has the different walbro pumps listed...take a look at rencent ones or call to see what they stock

RE: Change in fuel system between GT models?
I have a Walbro 255 LPH and I have no problem with fuel delivery as far as my dyno chart fuel graph shows. I did though have to modify the bucket that the fuel pump sits in. The pump is too tall for the retaining rim and can just be cut down a little so it will fit. A pumps a pump as far as I'm concerned though as long as it can keep up. I do need to get a fuel pressure guage to see if I'm getting enough fuel pressure at the end of a run though. I only did 2 runs since I've had my S/C but it seemed like at the end of one of those runs my car may have leaned out. I have read that it is possible to empty the bucket if you run over 12 seconds and drilling some holes to in the bucket to allow more fuel in is almost neccessary. I'm not sure the site where I read this info but they also sell a Ford 300LPH pump that is made for a returnless fuel system and will fit without modification. I will try to post the site later.
Also I would not use the Walbro if I knew what I know now as far as the modification goes I would definetly get the 300 LPH that Ford makes but I think that most of the S/C companys just use that same Walbro for all 99+ kits reguardless of the year or if it fits - at least they have for years.
