Default 2000 gt head work.

I have a 2000 gt, stock bottom end and getting ready to do some head work, going with 45mm intake valves and 36 mm exhaust, 47cc chamber vol., with titanium valve spring retainers, beehive spring and a set of comp cams XE270AH (duration of 234 int., and 238 exh. with lift of .550 for both). Has anyone do this or something close to this?? I would like to know what kind of hp to expect. thanks for the input.

im not sure if u will gain much, but the trick flow modular heads and cam combo showed a dyno gain of approx. 9o-100 hp with their cams and a tune

You really need to notch your pistons or you will have to retard your cam timing. Are you porting the intake/exhaust ports?

im a long way from buying them, but according to trick flow, no piston mods or retarding of timing required, unless they will contact when measured. in my experience when they say to check clearance, i have clearance by miles, guess ill see someday

my comment was directed to the op. But you are correct, Trickflow has designed their heads to help with ptv clearance.

I am porting and polishing the heads, but I will take the heads to a machine shop for the valve work ( due to the lack of equipment, I was a machinist for 7 years before becoming an automotive tech.) I am concerned about valve clearance with a .55 lift

With the Comp 270 cams, they have too much duration and will require piston notched or you will have to retard the cam timing.
