Trans swap 98 to 97

Trans swap 98 to 97
I have pulled motor and trans from a 98 GT to put in my 97. Motor harness no iossues, cranks and runs fine. I have a 4 pin connector on one side and a 7 pin on the other for the transmission and all I have is reverse when no plugged in (don't mate). Any input is greatly appreciated.
