Default Dyno, tuning question.

My question is, how do I find a good shop to do a custom tune on my Mustang, I have a few mods I want to put on my Mustang and after I do I want to get it dyno'd and tuned to make sure everything is syncing up. How do you find shops that are trustworthy when you don't know anyone in the area and you work with computer geeks (myself included) You always hear horror stories about shops and I don't want my Mustang to end that way. I live in Central Florida, Orland area. None of the shops near my work will put on aftermarket parts and don't know who will. Most things I like to do myself, but I don't have the resources for things like LT's.

Best thing for you to do is make a road trip to Modular Powerhouse in GA, just north of Atl. They're probably the most respectable mustang tuners in the southeast. Kinda like Strictly Performance is in the SouthWest.

^^^^ That is one hell of a long drive when STEEDA is only 2-2 1/2 hours away in FT. Lauderdale. I know there are some great places in Tampa also, and I have heard of a couple in Orlando,I just don't know the names because I am in Naples. Go check out Modulardepot's forums there are a bunch of guys on there that are in you area and cam tell you where to take your car. Good luck.

word of mouth. one person says a shop is good, then another, and so on and so on. don't bother with a custom tune until you get nitrous or supercharger. for just boltons, especially for the few you have, i'd just get a mail order tune.

At least with word of mouth he can find a shop a lot closer that driveing to Ga. to get it on a dyno, weither he gets a tune or not. Plus once he knows of a couple of shops he can check them out himself. I agree with Nanaki and wound not get a dynot tune yet with just thoes gbolt-on's, get yourself a predator or SCT tuner for now.

You really dont NEED a tune unless your getting things like gears/cams/headwork/s/c, etc. If you want to advance your timing or simple things like that try just getting a handheld tuner like diablo or SC.

I got a tune after I added my headers/ X-pipe, TB/Plenum. The A/F ratios and timing tables need to be adjusted after all that. I dropped .5 tenths after those as well.
