Why does everyone including owners keep knocking the 96-98 GTs?

RE: Why does everyone including owners keep knocking the 96-98 GTs?
RedASS The engineers that designed the 4.6 were hired from JAGUAR by ford when shortly there after ford bought them out and also carried a lengthy engineering contract for fords engineering program in formula 1 racing (indy car), wich is now run by cosworth (also ford owned). My father worked in tech for busch series racing I would think he would get good info. Funny how you mentioned 5.7 litre is not a 350, sorry wrong again. We are the ones that came up with that mesurement. That # represents the amount in fluid form that the cyliders for that engine can hold. 5.7 litres has been and always will be 350 cubic inch. just like a 351 ford is a 5.8 litre and the ford 7.3L diesel is 444 cubic inch. It is a number that all motors can be associated with depending on there dissplacement. Now back to ford vs chevy just pick up a factory 350 rod out of any chevy 5.7L motor.......now look at the rod bolt. What you will find is that the bolt is about the size of a #2 pencil. Now pick up any 289,302,351 or even a ford 300 six cylinder rod and look at the massive size bolts used. You will find that the ford motor is better built and stronger as well. It is not uncommon to see a pre 1973 ford 289,302,0r 351w useing factory rods that are polished and deburd turning 7300rpm and with high compression making about 400hp or so. That is what can be accomplished with ford parts. Generaly speaking I belive that a well built non pi motor can run with just about anything based off of modified ford parts.

btw, genious, whether something is liquid, solid or gas has nothing to do with it's volume or displacement. if I filled a 5.7L ls1 with liquid, gas or a solid, it would still not be a 350 c.i. motor.

for the record they are faster then 15's... haha
15's is what a 99+ V6 runs. a 96-98 GT is more like 14' easy.

There is so much BS in this thread I am tempted to lock it.
First of all: Yote Hunter, calm down and just stop talking for a second.
Second: Readass, you are hilarious, yet usually correct.
Third: All you 96-98 owners should stop saying "it could be just as fast" because chances are you will never do the PI swap.
Fourth:
It's called an C6 with an Ls2, dummy. It gets AWESOME MPG and produces 400/400.
Fifth: I ran a 15.0 completely stock with a bad MAF and shotty plug wires. That's with an auto. If your car can't break 15's you suck at life or your car needs a full tune up, BAD!
Sixth: Dave2000GT I hope to hell you were joking. The higher compression ratio formed is PERFECT for nitrous applications. Oh yeah, and have fun running a 150 shot and a blower ona stock bottom end....
Seriously, all the misinformation needs to ****ing stop right now. This thread is a goddamn joke.
96-98 owners...your car is slow, get over it. Put some nitrous on it, PI swap it, or put some 4.30's in, that'll solve your problems.
Yotehunter is a dummy, don't listen to him
Any other questions, PM me.

The day General motors builds a sports car that has that kind of power and that kind of effeciency is the day hell freezes over!
