Default Hardwiring a Radar Detector????

I just got a new cobra radar detector for christmas. I was thinking about hard wiring it to make because the wires are annoying. Anyone done it? Anyone have any tips on how to do it? Thanks Kyle

The bad thing about wiring in a radar detector is if you do get pulled over, for speeding or anything else, you can't hide the unit.Even if you get it unplugged and stuck in the console the cop will see the wire.If they even think it went to a radar detector there is no story in the world that will get you out of the ticket(s).

I did mine, I just ran the wires to the 12v plug beneath the stereo, and ran all the wires behind the plastic. Wasnt too difficult, but watch out for those wires on the detector..... they are small as hell, and dont like to strip easily. Most of the install time is spent trying to get those friggin wires to hold in the splice. Soldering would be a little easier.
