hmm...I'll have to ask livernois if it comes with gaskets attached. Thanks for the info...but other than that how does the list look?? Can anybody think of anything else I might possibly need to make the complete install??

Yeah, I think an idiot changed the last intake.

I don’t believe the manifold was torqued properly. The intake requires #18 (at least the new intake did anyway) and a couple of the bolts seemed like they were torqued way over that spec. 18# is not much!

The gasket looked like it might have been slowly leaking coolant down the intake. I net that was caused by inproper torquing.

Also after the job was completed I had an extra intake bolt. The installer of the previous PI left a bolt sitting under the manifold!

But anyway, I’m lucky!

My car started missing slightly before I left on my trip (under 1700 RPM when the engine was under a load). I ordered some MSD plug wires to my destination convinced that my 10 year old plug wires were the culprit and the problem was not severe enough to delay my holiday trip. Well, I was wrong...

Well, when I arrived to my destination (1300 miles later) my plug wires had beaten me there! I decided if I was going to get into the wires I may as well change the plugs too.

I visited this local auto chain called Oreilly’s. They had the NK iridium for a great price (under $60 for the set).

I realized that #4 plug hole on the head was totally filled in antifreeze and my intake had cracked and was leaking. It cracked laterally where the heater hose connects.

I had gone 1300 miles, even got stuck in a massive traffic jam in Atlanta, and the car never even got hot. Good thing it was winter!

Back to Oreilly’s again… They had the manifold in stock for $210… I’m like “SOLD!â€

My cousin actually installed the manifold. He really hooked me up there!

The manifold came with some brackets which we did not use (I assume because my manifold was already PI) and a thermostat. The gaskets were built into the intake.

Anyway, I’m hoping this one holds up…. Both are the plastic ones with aluminum x-over.

thanks a lot Bbond...damn man talk about unlucky. But, yeah I really trust my mechanic so I think he'll be fine with the install. It's just a matter of me gathering the parts together for him...but thanks again for the input. Anybody else thing of anything needed for the complete install that we haven't already mentioned?
