I run synthetic so I don't ever have to change the oil.

one of my good friends had a girlfriend a while ago who got a brand new VW Golf GTI. he was riding in her car at like 9000 miles and asked if she had gotten the oil changed this time yet. her response was more or less..."get the what whatted?" its sad how little some people know about vehicles...especially when they drive around nice cars.

You must know my wife.
My Aunt owns a shop less than 2 blocks from my wifes work so she changes her oil for free, I got in her Explorer this weekend and almost strangled her because it had been 7000 miles since her last oil change! I could only imagine the sludge that would come out after 25000 miles. Probably really did look like syrup....

Idiots like that will always provide job security to mechanics haha.

The part about this whole story that impresses me is that the mustang lasted 25000 miles without an oil change. I'm really impressed.

So when moneys tight, now you know where you can cut back! That is a good point though 25000 is an outrageous amount of miles that would take most drivers about two years to acquire.
Just kept driving past the Oil changing shops laughing at the stupid customers with their Faancy new oil, HA!
