correct me if im wrong but with my key there is a chip that has to be programed so that my car would start....anyway my problem with the remote start was that i would have to leave a copy ($$)of the key in a box like thing so when i hit the botton the car would start.....also defeating the purpose of the chip in the key,, i happen to like that feature of the key so i decide not to get it done
just me though......................

RE: remote start
i have it on my 5-spd. I had it installed at a stereo shop, they had to bypass the clutch to make it start. if its not in neutral and i start it with the remote, it starts moving forward, you haveto be VERRY careful. Always leave it in neutral.

oh ya, they had that problem also. they use a little box that holds the key code in untill the real key is put in the ignition and in the run position. it was $50. you can drive the car when it was remote started but if you push on the break then the code shouts off and the motor shuts off. so they cant drive it. after its remote started you can rev it inside the car with the key out but to "drive it" the key must be put int and turned into the run position

RE: remote start
I have a friend that has one on an 02 gt 5 speed. But the place that he took it to was stupid because it made it to where it can start in any gear no matter what. You can make it to where it will only start in neutral and only with the parking break on. I am not sure where he installed it at though.
