Default auto guys with gears

auto guys...what i have been hearing is that if you have an auto you need at least 4.10's. a buddy of mine said he thinks that is too steep for an automatic...you guys that have them, what kind of difference does it actually make? my car is a somewhat daily drivin car, not in the winter, and i drive on the highway a good amount. it is kind of annoying when you dont have your foot to the floor? just like normal driving around what does it feel like?

I dont think that 410's are to steep I have .373's in mine and I am thinking of going to .410's myself. Gas mileage suffers a little on the highway due to higher rpm's.

4.10's all the way, or maybe even 4.30's.

You will love them!

Pulls so so so much harder.
Tune with them to correct the speedo, but also torque out your shifts, shift pressure etc..
You will be AMAZED!

I recently put 4:10 gears, in my 98 automatic gt, and i absolutely love em. My car is a beast now, it made a huge difference, its harder to get a high top end speed, but it is totally stout in low end, I highly recommend.

.

It's nothing noticable. I have 3.73's. I got them because I bought into the high rpm hype that some people on here (some who didn't even have gears) kept feeding me. I love my 3.73's but if it wouldn't cost me another 500 bucks, I'd swap them out for 4.10's ina second. The only thing is that when I am on the intersate, which is rare, I cruise at about 85mph. That equates to 3000rpms now. In overdrive of course. Now this isn't really harmful, but with 4.10's Id be at about 3200rpms vs. about 2800 stock. So.... fudge it, I still got 23.XX mpg going that fast. Get the 4.10's. I have never been in a car with 4.30's but I would assume for a DD car that it would make a very noticable difference in your MPG.
