Default Antifreeze ?...Search didn't help

I ran a search and came up with a ton of stuff. None of the stuff truly answered my question.

I have a 2003 GT, What antifreeze is anyone else with an 03 running? The color of the antifreeze seems to be yellow, and not the orange dexcool color or the green regular color.

I've read that if you flush the system of yellow, and switch to green, if there is any yellow left in the system it will turn to sludge. Is this true?

Also I've read that the yellow can only be picked up at a Ford Dealer. I'm sure hoping that's not the case, and if it is I don't see how it's legal because it would create a monopoly and force people to buy their overpriced product.

the myth that only ford has it would be illegal. You can put universal coolant in there, it may not be yellow but there are numerous manufacturers that make a universal coolant, compatible with yellow, green, red purple, brown, whatever, you get the jist.

The yellow coolant is the G05 formulation. You can also use the universal stuff. Zerex makes a G05 formulation.
