Default Random stupid question...

yeah, I know this is gonna sound noobish, but I saw this pic and it made me go hmm? http://images.autotrader.com/images/..._A.562x421.jpg
I was wondering why such a high redline. The clusters off of a 97 cobra. I would think with a higher displacement the redline would drop? is it this high on the regular gt's of this year too, cause I know the v6 redlines at like 5200 -ish? [&:]
I know it has to do with the gear ratio and stuff like that, but I was thinking maybe someone could give a more technical explaination...

the cobra is a 4.6 just like the GT, the difference is it's a 4V and it has much better flow at higher rpm's so it benefits more from revving a littledeeper unlike the 2V
