yep, you can have your heads ported for more power, but ecconomically speaking, I would just go with new ones, it will probably cost you somewhere in the same neighborhood either way. There have been rumors lately that someone is coming out with new heads for the 2V that are a complete redesign, and should flow much better, so I would wait on those

Yes it is cheaper to have your own heads ported. If there is a place nearby that does it. It usualy cost around $600 for just the port and polish.

http://www.foxlakeracing.com/faq.php is why you don't have them done byjust any shop down the street. You want your heads to flow properly. Read the 3rd paragraph down, "Why is Fox Lake Stage I porting so expensive?"

Thats true but that is why you just have to do your research first. The shop intown by me does a complete head rework for $1900. That includes full race P&P, bronze guides, .600 springs with titanium locks, and oversized valves. I would love to get mine done there But I am just not home long enough to try for it. It is only one guy that does the modular heads and there is a 6 month wait just to get your heads to him. But his heads have been proven to make more power then guys running around town with patriot stage 3s. Its all in where you live

an experienced hand porter will more than likely be able to outflow a cnc'd head. one of my teachers at school used to port heads for ray barton, the hemi motor guy, and his work is amazing.
