The mark on the chain has to line up on the mark on the gear.

There's a mark on the cam gear, a little dot. The first marked link on the chain goes on that tooth.

There's a mark on the crank gear, another little dot. The other marked link goes on that tooth.

I have a feeling you might be better off paying someone to do this...

Lol, no I am fully capable. I know what to do in regards to what you just said, I am just trying to figure out the principles behind it. I may be phrasing the question wrong. Its all good.
