Default Bumpsteer kits and ball joints........

This is for all of you guys who have lowered your mustangs. Did any of you feel the need to install bumpsteer kits or new ball joints(say Steeda or any other type)? I was wondering about this and if its necessary or not. Thanks!

Well it depends on how low you are... My tie rod ends are at a pretty severe angle and it never hurts to have the longer shank on the ball joint.

Look under you car and see which one of these 2 your tie rod ends looks like

If it's the one on the top, you have parts to buy.

I haven't actually installed my springs yet as I plan to do the work in about a month or so when I stop driving the car. I have new shocks and struts for it too since they are pretty old now. The springs I have are FRPP "B" springs which wont give a huge drop(maybe about an inch all around). With that in mind do you think the kit would be necessary since its not a huge drop?

I wouldn't think so at that drop level. You should be fine.

I have the ford B springs, no bump steer. You don't need them, but they wouldn't hurt. I'm going on almost 2 years without them. on bigger bumps it'll definitely pull u in a direction, but nothing to severe.

Thanks for the good info so far guys. There is one section of highway by my house that has some type of raised "joint" sticking out and even with the suspension stock right now if cars hit that just right you can see them bounce to one side or another(myself included in that). I was thinking I might not need the bump kit or balljoints but definitely wanted to get some feed back on them. How much of a drop did you get on your mustang with those B springs you have?

In terms of inches id say 1-1.25". In terms of looks, HOLY CRAP WHY DIDNT I DO THIS WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR! Not a major drop but looks soo much better

That's about the perfect drop I was looking for without getting too severe. I know the drop levels on the B springs for our cars is listed somewhere around a little over an inch on the front and just about an inch on the back. Its so hard to tell though until you actually install them. That will definitely work for my 96 GT.

I did them both when I installed my H&R SS springs, which gave me about 1.75" of a drop. Don't have any experience being lowered without them, but I don't notice any bumpsteer. FYI, ball joints are a bitch to install, but it can be done relatively easily by yourself
