5.4 4v?

5.4 3v. You can get them out of F150's for 1000-1500 bucks. The heads are cheaper to port, and are as good or better than stock 4v head flow. 3v heads are roughly 1/2 the cost to port, 1/2 the cost to replace the valve train. More/better/cheaper intakes are available for them w/ lower profiles. With less weight, less moving parts, they are more reliable. Also, if you retain VCT, you can have a really cool tune, provided you find a tuner worth his salt.
3v heads are just plain better design with equal numbers and 1/2 the price:
lift----In----Ex----Port/in--gained----Port/ex--gained
.100---71----35----84-------13-------37-------2
.200---144---90----164------20-------93-------3
.300---204---119---222------18-------124------5
.400---223---137---256------33-------142------5
.500---231---149---272------41-------157------8
.600---234---155---281------47-------166-----11

Im blown away at how you reach that conclusion, As you can see in the numbers I posted, the 3v flows just as much as stock 4v, stock for stock and around 300cfm ported. Only the most extreme and talented porters have been able to get 310+ cfm out of a 4v head, and they cost well over 3k. Add in the fact that most people will never get there 4v heads ported, the 3v is a no-brainer
