Which Torque Converter is right for me?
Hey guys I need help on deciding on a torque converter. The cars a 99 GT with 80k on it. 4R70W. Its mostly a street car will see some strip. So I want it to be pretty docile on the street.
Car Details:
Teksid aluminum block bored .020 over
Forged CP Pistons Fly Cut 10.5:1
Eagle H Beam Rods
Steel Cobra Crank
Stage 3 Ported PI Heads
Comp Cams 278
Full Boltons/LTs/4.10s
What do you guys recommend as far as converter? Thanks for your time. Matt

E-mail some of the converter shops with your combination and they will give recommended stall speed. Here are a couple companies, there are many more out there.

What kind of power are you making with that combo?
I wouldn't go much higher than 2800ish stall since you say you want it to be "docile". You will need to add a cooler for sure if you go any higher, though I would recommend one anyway, they are inexpensive and will drastically prolong the life of your transmission.
TCI makes a decent converter.
