BAD IDEA!!!!

i hate to sound like an ***, but my buddy had one, GREAT looking bike, sounds AWESOME but had SOOOOO many problems, the R/R went out a few times, problems with the brakes, it went through plugs like a bastard, etc etc...

he traded it in on an 09 R1 (with the crossplane crank, sounds EPIC) and has never been happier...

hopefully i get to go pick up my '11 VFR1200 soon!!!!

the other 2 bikes we own (well, actually my wife kinda claimed them both) are a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 and a Suzuki SV650S, i love both of them, great on gas and fun to ride!! they're both pretty cheap to grab too!

Not an *** at all. Good info. I always liked the R6, but I heard they don't have the bottom end for the street, but I've never ridden one so I can't say from personal experience.

uhh bottom end? like low end? uhh what the **** was whoever that told you that smoking? I rode an 05 R6 for a few months and that bitch had a pipe and was almost identical to a honda CBR 929 RR my brother used to ride.... I'm gonna let you in on a well known secret (lols) 90% of the people that ride motorcycles cannot ride a 600 sportbike to its full potential.

This was my solution to "sometimes" commuting, around town, and just plain fun--after riding cruisers for 35+ years I decided I was all over it and got a scooter--granted one that can do 100mph...

truth, my buddies R6 with a pipe and a PC carries me around no problem and im NOT a small guy lol. i can ride it below 8K all day and it feels plenty fast...

what people mean by "no bottom end" on a 600 is that compared to a 1000 the amount of torque at lower revs compared to the top end rush is a wayyyyyyy bigger gap thats all. still plenty of power no reason to ride around at 14K like some people think they need to...

and i in no way an come CLOSE to riding a 600 flat out, i just want the VFR1200 cause i like that way it looks, sounds (with a pipe lol not stock) handles, etc etc. i just plain like the bike and want something that has a little more poop than a 600 throughout the powerband.

id never get something like a CBR1000RR because i would probably die within hours, at least the VFR has the word "touring" after "sport" lol

They said below 4k. Who knows I'm not to bike savvy myself so I really can't say much about anything. But I have to think "no bottom end" on a bike is like my GT wide open anyway haha.

haha im not gonna lie, even though theyre wayyyyyy faster i never get the same rush on a street bike as i do in my car when i punch it. even on my buddies R1, although its better then say a GSXR1000 because of the sound

i rode a VFR1200 with a Two Brothers on it today at the dealership its the BEST sounding bike ive heard to date, even better than the Daytona 675 (which i never thought could be done). sounds like a friggin RC211V MotoGP bike

look into a twin actually if you want a nice back road burner, im telling you the SV650S we have is a GREAT bike, we got it for $2600 and put maybe another $1000 into it and its amazing.

And I had a buddy with an 06 675 and he never had a hiccup in 10k miles. Point being, don't try to preach an isolated experience that your buddy had as fact. This is how these stupid internet rumors start.
