It actually is petro based, however it does not seem to affect urethane like the plain old lithium and other soap based greases. Prothane has their own brand of PTFE/silicone grease but it is absurdly priced last I knew...

Not sure what it is made of (possibly silicone based)but I usually put GM Goodwrench brand Dielectric grease on things like that and door seals that squeak. Learned this when I worked for a GM dealership. It also works really well to help slide rubber and silicon intake couplers together, in the heat of the engine bay it actually dries and kind of loosely "glues" the boots together.

Mine do the same thing keith, Ill have to try the grease cliffy was talking about.
