Default Need Help! E brake issue

Hi Mustang owners. (2004 mustang GT 5 speed ) I was merging onto the highway by my house accelerating through third gear and noticed my brake light came on for a few seconds. Within the next couple exits I noticed my car felt weird and I was In the right lane about to exit so i went to the emergency late and my car just came to a halt. I would drive 2 or 3 feet then it's as if someone is yanking my e brake and the brake light flashes on the dash for a few seconds. any ideas? has this happened to anyone else here?

How's the brake fluid level? If it gets too low, it could trip the sensor in the reservoir as the remaining fluid splashes around.

Lift up the back of the car and give the wheels a spin as to verify that the parking brake is not hanging up regardless of the handle being released. If it is, could be at the caliper(s) or somewhere in the cable/linkage. Since your "brake" lamp is illuminating intermittently and the switch is located near the base of the parking brake handle I would suspect if it's actually binding up then the problem is located nearby.
