Squealing belt??
My wife had her 06 GT convertible to the dealer today for a squealing when the a/c is on and she makes a turn. The dealer says this is "characteristic" of the new Mustang. Is this true or a lot of BS? The fluid level is good and the car only has 5ooo miles on it.

No computer code - no problem! These belts are long and there are multiple idlers...
It can be:
1. a pulley bearing
- hard to check this without just replacing as it squeals under load
2. a belt rubbing on the idler bracket under load (power steering and AC in your case)
- look for black dust on the front of the engine anywhere it comes near a bracket - even if it clears while stopped - it flexes under load and can rub
3. glazed pulleys (seems unlikely at 5k miles, but possible)
- look for bright and shiney groves on the pulleys (really-really bright and polished and/or uneven shine)
4. belt too lose or too tight
- check ilder pulley location bettwen the positive and negative stop on the pulley (hard to see with the intake hose still on).
5. accessory pulley freezing up #4 is more likely, but it is possible that your PS pump is dragging down too hard and slipping - look for black rubber dust
