Super Charge 07 GT Question

RE: Super Charge 07 GT Question
Supercharging is when you add a supercharger to the engine. A supercharger is a pump that forces extra air into it. This extra air allows you to burn extra fuel, which makes more HP. There are various popular options for these cars including the Procharger, Saleen, Whipple, and Kenne Bell units. Expect to pay at least $4,000 for the supercharger itself plus installation. Many of the kits also require additional parts that aren't in the kit. Some kits are more complete than others. Superchargers will make a LOT of HP. You can get 400 or 450 RWHP easy. You should also keep in mind that at those kind of HP levels you will probably want other mods to improve your traction and so on. Tons of HP is useless unless you can put the power to the ground.
a 100 shot of nitrous is 100 horsepower. A Nitrous kit is about $500.

RE: Super Charge 07 GT Question
I cant believe Crazy Al would say a 100 shot is 100 HP?
A 100 shot refers to the orifice size of the jet your spraying the N2O threw. A 100 shot will usually give you between 85 and 90 additional HP.
Sorry Crazy Al, But I still respect you and your posts.

RE: Super Charge 07 GT Question
There must be multiple schools of thought on this one. I have installed quite a few nitrous systems and everyone I've ever talked to uses "100 shot" as a slang term for 100 HP. Of course, it is a nominal rating, so a "100shot" might give you more or less than 100 HP, depending on various factors....but everything I have heard/seen/done uses "shot" as a slang term for how much HP you're getting when you spray.. So, a "100 shot" would be 100 HP on average.
This is what Nitrous Express states in their FAQ:
Q. What is meant by 30, 50, 100, 150, and 200 shots?
A.[/b] "Shot" is commonly used slang in the nitrous community to refer to the amount of horsepower increase provided by the nitrous system.
