Quick Driveshaft Question
Do all of the aftermarket driveshafts require a companion flange? I am getting my gears installed and dont think i can get a driveshaft in time for the install. If they all require a flange I amm going with SPYDER's. If not I am not sure. I dont want to unbolt the pinion nut after I get my gears done.

RE: Quick Driveshaft Question
john i sent a email to you also but i'll post it here too.
yes the companion flange does need to be changed with my setup. it's really not a big deal. it's only one nut which is a 1-1/16" i think. the old one comes off and the new one slides on. then torque the pinion nut to 150ft.lbs. and it's done. as long as you torque the nut to no more than 150 it won't collapse the crush sleeve any farther and will keep the bearing preload the same as it was. it takes me all of 5 minutes(less with air tools) to change flanges.
this way all parts are factory ford matched for balance and strength+it's 2-3lbs. lighter than the stock flange with an adapter.
