Let me start by saying I know there isn't a lot of horsepower to be found in shorty headers, but I would like to know where the difference lies between the tuned headers and the equal length i.e. torque or hp. BBK has the tuned shorties and Murrays Speed and Custom had shown me a set of equal lenghts that looked like a twisted octopus, but I cant remember who the manufacturer was.

I remember reading something a little while ago stating something like this:

Tuned headers bring the exhaust to the flange at certain intervals to create a vacumn. IE: Cylinder one gases pull the gasses of cylinder 3 which pull 5 which pull 7 to provide maximum flow. Thats not the correct order but something like that.

Equal length headers bring the exhaust gas to the flange at about the same time.

Once again, its something like that not sure about performance differences. Someone else can chirp in there.
