Long tube headers

RE: Long tube headers
ORIGINAL: Penance
Wow i just read the post above, he must have done alot to his car if that is non-aspirated, i could buy those numbers. That car must have everything done to it (pulleys, bigger injectors, ect), except being blown to have that much horsepower. I could believe those numbers. Like i said, the more done to a car greatly affects what a header gain would do (id asume). Id like more info on headers!!!! I stand by my claim that a STOCK mustung would generally get around 8-10 hp gains.....

The "Kooks" representative in the video clip states installation on a n/a car will result in 22-28 HP gains. Take it with a grain of salt, but unless someone shows me the before and after dyno slips of a long tube install on a n/a car I'm going to belive it nets you about 22+ HP. So...if you are going to state otherwise...show us the proof. Saying "I heard from so and so" is not good enough. I'm not saying you are wrong, I just want to see the proof. Granted - I haven't found dyno slips for a n/a car before and after, I'm only going off of1) what others have said in this forum - who actually have long tubes; 2) what 5.0 Mustang published (think it was them)6 months ago with a SLP long tube upgrade and 3) what the above video clip states.

RE: Long tube headers
Argonaut, i agree 43 hps on a supercharged saleen is of course true. Secondly, im not saying from so and so. Go to Borla.com. Thats the only place i have stated on my claims. And again i said header and x pipe on a stock car gives you about 20hps. See the post DIRECTLY above your post, i stated that. Again, i only commented on my facts i did research on from BORLA... Again, i dont claim to be the header GOD, and would like more dyno sheets with people in this community who actually have them on a NON-supercharged car. My ORIGINAL post, maybe in a different thread is that i think more gains could be made from the x pipe itself than the header. Of course both together would give even more gains. Have a good one.

RE: Long tube headers
How about a comment on the expected sound/tone/pitch variances between these two setups:
1- Mac LT - o/r Prochamber - Pypes midmufflers (my current setup minus LT's)
2- Kooks LT - hi-flo catted x-pipe- Pypes midmufflers

RE: Long tube headers
JBA is clamming peak gains of 23hp and 28lb with their long tub headers and cat H-pipe

I am thinking about getting this, and the place I would getting themdone, will do a before and after dyno run. So, if some people want to send me some money to help me get this we can end this augment
